The draws for the 2024/25 Dean’s cup competition for the faculty of Renewable Natural Resources was conducted on Thursday, 9 October, 2025. This was done in the Forest Resource Management Small Lecture Theatre.
At the draws, the fixtures of the Dean’s cup competition was decided. Representatives from all four departments in the faculty of Renewable Natural Resources alongside the Sports Minister of Renewable Natural Resources Students’ Association (RENARSA), Thomas Daniel were in attendance.
The Dean’s cup will commence on Thursday, 16th of October, 2025 with a Management derby, seeing the Wildlife and Ecotourism Management square against the defending champions, Aquaculture and Fisheries Management. After the opening match, the departments of Social and Environmental Forestry would face the department of Forest Production and Products in a Tree Club derby.
On Friday, 17th October 2025, matchday two will be opened with a battle between Aquaculture and Fisheries Management and the Social and Environmental Forestry, while the department of Wildlife and Ecotourism Management face off the department of Forest Production and Products.
The final league matches would be played on Monday 20th October, 2025, when the department of Social and Environmental Forestry would face Wildlife and Ecotourism Management followed by a football match between Forest Production and Products against Aquaculture and Fisheries Management.
According to the Sports Director, Thomas Daniel, all matches would be played on the Old Football Field, SUB, with hopes to secure the new football stadium for the final game. “The preliminary matches will be played on SUB, while we will get to secure New Stadium for the final” he said.
