
The Sixth Assembly of Renewable Natural Resources Students’ Association Students’ Legislative Council (RENARSA SLC) has referred Edeh Emmanuel, the Social Minister of RENARSA to the Disciplinary Committee for inefficiency and negligence of duty.Edeh Emmanuel was referred to the Disciplinary Committee while he was presenting the report of the Freshers Orientation Programme that was held between May 7 – May 9 2025 due to his failure to submit the Freshers’ Orientation Report on time.The Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adejuyigbe Emmanuel expressed concern over the late submission of the report despite several reminders. The Assembly had officially sent a letter instructing the Social Minister to submit the report by 7:00am on Monday, June 9, 2025. He requested an extension until 1:00pm on the same day, but still failed to meet the deadline. The report was eventually submitted after 2:00pm on the same day.
The Assembly acted in accordance with Article III, Section V, Subsection I, Bullet 10 of the RENARSA Constitution which stated that the SLC have the power to investigate allegations and query any Executive on the grounds of gross misconduct; abuse of office; embezzlement; forgery; financial misappropriation; theft; absenteeism from meeting and congresses; inefficiency and negligence of duty. This clause of the constitution also gave the SLC the power to make appropriate recommendations based on the investigation and queryThe total amount approved for the freshers orientation was ₦256,535 while the overall expenditure is ₦274,950 while the total funds received is ₦226,800.After much deliberation among the executives and Honourables, it was concluded that the commodities which were not initially included in the budget for invited guests — should be provided.
