The 2025 Session of the Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources Collaborative Dinner and Award Event, themed “A Black Banquet: Dinner and Award Night,” was held on 23rd December 2025 at Tafawa Balewa Hall, University of Ibadan. The financial report for the event was formally presented today, 21st January 2026, by the Social Director, Comrade Emmanuel Edeh.
The event was attended by approximately 110 guests, including faculty representatives, members of the Faculty Council, the Faculty President, staff advisers Dr. Alfred and Dr. Fasoro, judges, Amazon contestants and their managers, students, and a DJ.
Financially, the event generated a total revenue of ₦533,000, with ₦323,000 from 63 tickets sold and ₦210,000 from sponsorships. However, the total expenditure of ₦682,700 resulted in a deficit and an outstanding debt of ₦115,000.
After deliberations within the Sitting, the Honourable Members of the House resolved that Team Providence must settle the debt within seven (7) working days which is January 30th, 2026, set as the final deadline with evidence of payment.
The Speaker of the 7th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adejuyigbe Emmanuel, noted that the outstanding debt should have been settled by now because Dinner took place last year
He highlighted that the delay reflects a lack of foresight and emphasized the need for proper financial planning, accountability, and timely management of funds.
Additionally, the dinner pictures are not yet available. The photographer initially assigned for the event did not show up, which led the organizers to meet with Comrade Precious Ogunkeye, Treeclub President, who arranged another photographer for the event. However, the photographer has not provided any photos or updates till now despite repeated follow-ups, Comrade Precious Ogunkeye too has also not responded to the Social Director regarding the matter.
