RENARSA SLC continues screening for 7th Assembly members

On Friday, 9th January 2026, an online screening exercise was conducted via Google Meet for students seeking to represent their respective classes in the Legislative Assembly for the forthcoming academic session.

During the exercise, the Speaker of the Legislative Council expressed appreciation to Honourable Victoria Adeleke from Forest Production and products 500level constituency for her availability and active participation. The Speaker also highlighted the assessment criteria adopted for the screening, which included punctuality (10 marks), knowledge (40 marks), proper dressing (10 marks), and confidence, composure, and commitment (40 marks).

The candidates who participated in the screening and their respective scores were:

Olanike Balogun (300 Level, FPP) – 77.5%

Ayodele Godgift (200 Level, FPP) – 78.5%

Anujuom Chiamaka (100 Level, SEF) – 67.5%

Igwe Margaret (300 Level, SEF) – 53%

At the end of the exercise, all candidates were successfully screened and found qualified, except Igwe Margaret (400 Level, SEF), who scored below the 60% benchmark required for qualification into the Legislative Assembly.

Meanwhile, Adebisi Kehinde, a 200 Level student of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management (AFM), was absent from the screening due to reasons best known to him.

Furthermore, the Legislative Council announced that vacant seats are still available in the following categories:

100 Level – Wildlife and Ecotourism Management (WEM)

100 Level – Forest Production and Products (FPP)

300 Level – Social and Environmental Forestry (SEF)

400 Level – Aquaculture and Fisheries Management (AFM)

The screening exercise commenced at 12:02 p.m and concluded at 1:30 p.m
