As the academic session comes to a close, students of the Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources have expressed concern over the non-distribution of the Faculty package, despite paying their basic dues since the first semester.
RENARSA PRESS Interviewed students on their opinion about late distribution of Faculty Package
Students emphasized that the package was paid for through basic dues and should have been distributed earlier or communicated better to avoid confusion and dissatisfaction.
Daniel, a student of Wildlife and Ecotourism Management, said the Faculty package should have been distributed before students proceeded on holiday.
“I think they may have their reasons,” he said. “With major activities like the faculty dinner and Faculty Week, it seems the package was not treated as a priority. Scale of preference, that’s the word.”
Marvelous, also of the Department of Wildlife and Ecotourism Management, described the delay as surprising, noting that expectations were high before the session ended.
“We were expecting the notebook before the session ended,” she said all my roommates from other faculties already have theirs, and it made me wonder what was happening in our faculty. It would help if the leadership could give us an update on when to expect it. There might be a valid reason for the delay, and hopefully they will reach out to us soon.
An anonymous student from Forest Production and Products expressed concern over the prolonged delay, emphasizing the need for timely action.
“Whatever the reason is ,it should have been resolved, and necessary arrangements should have been made for the distribution of the package.”
Another Anonymous finalist student said
“Package hasn’t arrived yet and we won’t be in school next session,How will we get the package provided because not everyone would have the chance to come back to UI to get it and we all paid basic Dues “
The package, remains undistributed, raising questions about its status and the management of funds paid months ago. With no official distribution before the end of the session, students’ expectations have turned into uncertainty.
In line with its commitment to transparency and accountability, RENARSA Press sought for clarification from the leadership of the Renewable Natural Resources Students’ Association (RENARSA) and engaged the President to address the reasons for the delay and provide assurances to students.
Responding to the concerns raised by students, the President of the Renewable Natural Resources Students’ Association (RENARSA); Oyebanji Israel explained that the delay is due to pending pictures required for the final production of the faculty package.
In his words, “The inner content of the book is ready. The designs and templates are already with the printer. What is delaying the process are the pictures that will come with the book. The photographer has not delivered any pictures yet.”
The Faculty President assured students that once the photographs are submitted, production will be completed and arrangements made for distribution.
As students await further updates, RENARSA Press will continue to monitor the situation and engage the association’s leadership to ensure timely communication and accountability to all members, especially graduating students who may not be on campus next session
