Renewable Natural Resources Students’ Association Students Legislative Council (SLC) held a webinar on transformational leadership, themed “Leading Self, Leading Others: Unlocking Personal Growth for Transformational Leadership” on Friday, 27th June, 2025 via Google Meet.
The webinar was moderated by the Deputy Speaker of RENARSA SLC, Adejare Oyebanjo. The event brought together executives, legislative council members, members of RENARSA, and members of the University at large.
Festus Adegbola, the pioneer President of RENARSA emphasized that leadership is not a title, but rather self-leadership. He highlighted the pillars of self-leadership which are Self-awareness, Self-discipline, Self-motivation, Self-reflection.
Samuel Tobiloba, past President of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union (UI’SU) shared his experience as a student union president, stressing that leadership is about identifying needs and having plans for achievement. He spoke majorly on the importance of being proactive rather than reactive.
The webinar concluded at 9:00 pm, providing valuable insights into transformational leadership, effective leadership personal growth.
