At the first sitting of the Sixth Assembly of the Renewable Natural Resources Students’ Association (RENARSA) Students’ Legislative Council (SLC) held today, May 3, 2025 at the department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management 500L Class, the breakdown of the ₦4,000 basic dues for the 2024/2025 academic session was approved.
The lateness of Israel Oyebanji, the President of RENARSA delayed the review of the executives proposal of the basic dues breakdown.
During the presentation of the basic dues breakdown, Israel Oyebanji noted that there would be souvenirs in addition to books that would be distributed as package for Renarsaites.
In the breakdown, ₦1,550 was proposed by the executives council for book while the SLC Budget and Finance Committee recommended ₦1,500.
₦70 each was proposed for both the Press and the Literary and Debating Society. The Budget and Finance Committee recommended ₦100 for Literary and Debating Society and ₦70 for Press.
The proposed amount for Sports and the amount recommended is ₦150.
The proposed and recommended amount for programmes is ₦250 and ₦240 respectively.
₦900 was proposed for faculty week while the budget and finance committee recommended ₦1,000.
The amount proposed for the Students’ Legislative Council is ₦230 while the same amount was recommended by the budget and finance committee.
₦340 was proposed and recommended for office budget.
₦200 each was proposed for savings and capital project. The SLC budget and finance committee recommended ₦150 for savings and ₦200 for capital project.
The approved breakdown of the basic dues is as follows:

Literary and Debating Society – ₦100

Sport – ₦150
Programmes – ₦240
Faculty Week – ₦1,000
