The first day of a three days orientation program organized by Comrade Adedotun administration recorded a huge success as there was a massive turn out of students both freshmen and stallites who came in their numbers to warmly welcome and support the program.
Freshemen received mind-blowing lectures and inspirational words from renown young persons who are graduates of the faculty.
Mrs Bada Modupe– the faculty officer, in her words encouraged freshemen to take their primary assignment in the citadel very serious while they engage in others benefitting activities on campus.
Speakers from all spheres were invited to speak at the almost four – hours long program and they include:
1) Uthman Ayoku Oyebamiji
Team lead @ Wildest Eco, Wildlife blogger
2) Samuel Olayiwola Babatunde
PhD student, western Illinois university, Maline Illinois USA
3) Okikiola Michael Alegbeleye
MSc Department of forestry, Mississippi state university, Starkville USA
4) Abiodun Temitope Oyelere
Researcher Bioenergy and environmental chemistry.
5) Micheal Adeyemo
PhD Mississippi state university USA
Each of these speakers spoke fluently and efficiently to the participants of the program on the usefulness and the fulfilment one can achieve as a student of the noble faculty.
Across the speakers, the wide tentacles of the Renewable resources was exposed and emphasized to participants and everyone got value.
During the program, which took place at the SLT, Students on the Dean’s roll of honor (first class) were recognized and duly awarded as well. A total of 25 students were awarded across the faculty. With Omotayo Oladayo from the department of wildlife and ecotourism management being the overall best student with the CGPA of 3.92.
The program came to an end with a musical performance– an artiste who is a student of the faculty.
The program continues tomorrow at Awo stadium for the sport activities.
