An Edifice is not implemented just by ‘words of mouth’ or ‘dreams of sleep’. It is an output of implemented architectural creations subjected to thorough planning and management of resources, adequately construed and channelled professionally. A fantastic building is a function of architectural creativeness; once that is bastardized, you can be sure of a subpar structure.
Therefore, the essence of a concrete foundation is important to the sustainable implementation of organizations and governance. A little crack in it will, if not immediately, later bring to dust everything built on it.
An organization that is two years of age could still be considered as being in her foundational stages, the growth is meant to be in bytes, and that is why there should be a stringent check of the activities of individuals who pilot the foundational stages.
A fire kept in the bossom will only last for a short time before it breaks the banks, so also, is the archaic mentality of some persons in the legislative arm. It is believed that they are supposed and created to check the activities of the Executives when the needs arise, but instead, they see the gavel as an avenue or closet to torment and take out their self-pride on matters subjected to their House.
Well, maybe they need a re-orientation of what exactly their duties are. If I was asked, I would say maybe some individuals still have the fault-finding mindset, hence causing unnecessary chaos by posing questions waiting for absurd answers, which they term faulty.
Tell me what else they would get when they have a concave philosophy of their job. Of what value is the time spent on irrelevances of “this is what I know and this is what must stand” after calling parties involved in subject matters to a deciding meeting days before the sitting. When you deem it fit to create committees that see to different matters, then of what use is long hours of deliberations on such matters again. There are better-improved methods and systems in place.
Even though the horizontal placing of the maze means serious business, I still find it funny that some individuals expect tourists to bring plates to tourists sites for food. Do we need to bring to the sitting Lexicon before we know the difference between tour and camp meetings?
My jaws dropped when another one insinuated that students on tours should not expect to sleep or relax at night in a better place than their rooms at Agbowo. That is quite unreasonable because that fact is tourist should enjoy and flex the heaviness of their pockets and enjoy their time out. Of what use is a leisure voyage, if I come back with serious body pains caused by sharing the same bed with 3 other people. Common sense will not fall like manna from heaven, but we can pick from the one the Almighty has blessed us with and make do with it efficiently.
“Madam/Mr speaker, the council” is a statement that symbolises the respect and coordination you have for the presiding officer. In that same vein, should it be when you are to address matters that are tabled before you. If anybody has been conversant with the first and the present assembly, you will understand the need for her members to cut some excesses that are generated from the place of pride.
A bomb-like letter was written to the first assembly by the then executives, it caused rift for a long time between the two arms and only the then Chairman of the University’s Council of speakers could quench the fire. That probably dropped your jaw, right? Exactly! Without much ado, if such a thing should happen last session, and with the occurrence of events happening at the moment, I am afraid there is fire just above our roofs.
The constitution only subjects other arms to you, not because the potential executive members or the present ones are unreasonable people, you only need to check them by asking basic and relevant questions without ulterior motives and biased minds. You will only be bozos if you think you’re more student than any other student because you’re an Honorable. If your ideology when you see an officer subjected to you is first to pick the faults in their presentations, maybe you need to read more and be a better person yourself.
To the newbies that are being mentored by the oldies, you have the mind of your own, allow not the politics of the selfish and cacos(es) be the driver of your wheels. Be progressive in your endeavours and be open-minded so that at the end of the day, the goodness of a faithful steward can be yours, here, from your colleagues and hereafter with the Almighty
I’m not going to water this down by saying this is just an opinion of a concerned renarsite. But catch the cue and use it, together we can build a strong and sustainable foundation for our dear faculty
