The increase in house rents around UI environs,
A single room of 50k, skyrocketing to 100k as basic rent,
A selfcon of 150k, now between 200k and 250k,
An agent fee of 20k, now within the range of 50k and 80k.
Let’s not pretend it’s okay,
Student’s apartments being robbed,
Insecurities becoming the order of the day,
Worse is the trauma it leaves behind,
And the fear of not being able to walk freely at past 7PM.
Let’s not pretend it’s okay,
The current market economy,
The alarming rate at which market goods are going up,
The shock of hearing a good you only just purchased a week earlier has increased,
The present standard of living that is sinking citizens into depression,
The increased rate of cybercrime as a result.
Let’s not pretend it’s okay,
The way academic career seem to be sucking away precious time,
The way it’s so difficult to merge academics and other extracurricular activities,
The way school system takes the better part of our lives,
The difficulty in paying school tuition and other expenses,
The way we are all trying to act like it’s okay.
